GET IT STRAIGHT
Opened up the window shade and looked out in the sky
Nothing there but blue to meet the eye
Crawled back into bed and pulled the covers over head
Let another weekend pass me by
I want to know, why does time go so slow
Since she’s been gone it takes all I’ve got just to carry on
I’ve been waiting by the mailbox I’ve been checking my machine
Thinking every day she’ll try to get in touch with me
Praying for a miracle some lucky twist of fate
Holding out some hope it’s not too late
Maybe if I knew just what went wrong I could set it straight
I know I’m going to see her in some unexpected place
Our paths are going to have to cross one day
She’ll realize she’s still in love and I’m the one she’s dreaming of
If I could only see her face to face
I’d melt her heart like I did at the start
But now that she’s gone it takes all I’ve got just to carry on
I’ve been waiting by the mailbox I’ve been checking my machine
Thinking every day she’ll try to get in touch with me
Praying for a miracle some lucky twist of fate
Holding out some hope it’s not too late
Maybe if I knew just what went wrong I could set it straight
I’ll wait what else can I do?
It’s just a matter of time ‘till we’re back together
I’ve been waiting by the mailbox I’ve been checking my machine
Thinking every day she’ll try to get in touch with me
Praying for a miracle some lucky twist of fate
Holding out some hope it’s not too late
Maybe if I knew just what went wrong I could set it straight
Baby forgive and forget it, whatever it is I regret it
It’s just a set back, you can bet that
If you let me know I know I can get it straight
