FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH

You can make fun of the waves

But they’ll still come crashing in

Try to make the wind behave

But it won’t tell you where it’s been

Can you chase lightning cross the sky?

Catch the thunder in your hands?

Far too soon we’re old and die

Will you find the rainbow’s end?

Get your head out of the clouds

Come back down to earth

The future’s all behind us now

For what it’s worth

Can you put the moon to bed?

Or tell the sun when it should rise?

Can you make the stars not shine?

Are they gone when you close your eyes?

Get your head out of the clouds

Come back down to earth

Time is only what you make it about

(Use it wisely)

Can you make the rivers run?

Change their course across the land?

What will you do til then?
